Andy Clark

Trained as a biologist, Andy has been involved with Marine surveying with Ocean Dynamics since 2004. Experience includes several thousand hours as pilot of observation class ROVs performing hard seabed monitoring of finfish aquaculture, seabed bathymetry surveys, pre/post-lay cable surveys, scientific data collection projects and search and recovery operations. Extensive experience with several different ROVs including the Seaeye Falcon and the Deep Ocean Engineering Phantom both rated to 300 meters.

Andy has led a wide variety of operations from the harsh conditions of a tent on frozen lakes operating under ice to live boating from various sized vessels and clump weight surveys for long distant transects. Vessels such as Fisheries and Oceans 40m CCGS Vector and 19m CCGS Neocaligus on Rockfish surveys and for BC Hydro from the MV Royal City performing potential cable route surveys over the Galliano Ridge and aboard the 56m RV Wecoma off the coast of Newport Oregon.

Additional experience includes boat operation and navigator around the marine waters of both East and West coast Vancouver Island and Sechelt Inlet. Certified as a small boat operator (SVOP), Marine Emergency Duties MED A3, Marine First Aid, Standard First Aid and is a certified Occupational Diver. Is a standing member of the College of Applied Biology and holds a RBTech certification. Successfully completed the BC Ministry of Environment Finfish Aquaculture Hard Seabed Video Classification (FAWCR) now recognized and endorsed by Fisheries and Oceans Canada (DFO).
